D&rsquo;entr\u00e9e de jeu, il est int\u00e9ressant de souligner que ce que l&rsquo;on consid\u00e8re comme le \u00abpremier\u00bb film interactif,\u00a0<em>One Man and his World<\/em>\u00a0de Raduz Cincera, a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 ici au Canada \u00e0 l&rsquo;Expo 67 de Montr\u00e9al. La raison d&rsquo;\u00eatre de ce projet de recherche se veut cependant beaucoup plus profonde que cette simple parent\u00e9 g\u00e9ographique. Les exp\u00e9riences de cin\u00e9ma interactif, \u00e0 tout le moins dans le domaine du divertissement populaire, sont de plus en plus rares et le genre accuse un d\u00e9clin ind\u00e9niable de nos jours. Pourtant, au tournant des ann\u00e9es 1990s, l&rsquo;enthousiasme entourant ces exp\u00e9riences semblait annoncer la venue d&rsquo;un genre nouveau, promis \u00e0 un bel avenir. Le projet a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9labor\u00e9 \u00e0 partir de ce constat historique? qu&rsquo;est-ce qui a bien pu engendrer ce d\u00e9clin ?<\/p><p>Le projet a permis de mieux cerner ce qui distingue le cin\u00e9ma interactif et voir de quelle fa\u00e7on il s&rsquo;est (d\u00e9s)int\u00e8gr\u00e9 dans des champs m\u00e9diatiques plus vastes. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un travail documentaire, il a permis d\u2019\u00e9viter qu\u2019un large corpus d&rsquo;oeuvres ayant \u00e9t\u00e9 qualifi\u00e9es (\u00e0 divers degr\u00e9s) de film interactif ne sombre rapidement dans l&rsquo;oubli. Nos recherches ont scind\u00e9 le ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne en trois occurrences distinctes : le film interactif \u00e0 proprement parler, le film-jeu (plus sp\u00e9cifiquement associ\u00e9 au jeu vid\u00e9o), puis les arts m\u00e9diatiques, pratique aussi riche que diffuse. Ainsi, plus de 421 oeuvres renvoyant au cin\u00e9ma interactif ont \u00e9t\u00e9 recens\u00e9es et fich\u00e9es entre 2004 et 2008.
